There are still a few days left before the September 30th deadline for the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant program. There is a dedicated website for the program here: CAReliefGrant.com.
These grants do not need to be paid back and can range from $5,000 to $25,000.
If a business is in one of the following industries, you have a good likelihood of receiving money from this grant. On top of this, any business in a disadvantaged community or Opportunity Zone may receive even more money from the grant.
Some industries most impacted by the pandemic and likely to receive grants include, but are not limited to (identified by North American Industry Classification System codes):
61 – Educational Services
71 – Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation
72 – Accommodation and Food Services
315 – Apparel Manufacturing
448 – Clothing and Clothing Accessory Stores
451 – Sporting Goods, Hobby, Musical Instrument, and Book Stores
485 – Transit and Ground Passenger Transportation
487 – Scenic and Sightseeing Transportation
512 – Motion Picture and Sound Recording Industries
812 – Personal and Laundry Services
5111 – Newspaper, Periodical, Book and Directory Publishers
Some outside resources include this webinar on Thursday 9/23 at 10 am offered by the Los Angeles County Business Federation or BizFed.
The information above is educational in nature and we insist that you speak with your financial and tax professional to review and apply for these programs.
